Overnight Licensed Veterinary Technician ($7,500 Sign On Bonus)

About the role

The Hospital for Veterinary Surgery (HVS), the first surgery-exclusive veterinary hospital in New York City, is seeking a licensed overnight Technician/Technologist to join our inpatient care team. We are looking for an LVT to cover 12-hour overnight shifts (7 pm–7 am) on either a part-time or full-time basis. Sunday shift (7 pm Sunday to 7 am Monday) is required as part of the available schedule.

We are a collaborative team of passionate veterinary professionals practicing in a clinician-designed, 10,000 square foot facility. Our goal is to deliver modern medicine in a state-of-the-art, highly personalized environment for our patients and clients. This role works in conjunction with our overnight veterinarian and veterinary assistant to provide exceptional care to post-op patients.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient recovery and ensure our standard of client and patient experience is met
• Place and maintain intravenous, central, arterial, and urinary catheters
• Maintain feeding tubes and chest tubes
• Monitor patients requiring oxygen supplementation and transfusions
• Provide patient care inclusive of pre- and post-outpatient surgical care
• Obtain blood samples, remove sutures, and place bandages

Requirements

• Licensure in New York State
• Experience with practice management software (ezyVet is our in-house system)
• Adaptability and the ability to pivot effortlessly while maintaining a positive attitude with clients and coworkers
• Expert time management skills
• Highly organized with acute attention to detail
• Sound judgment with the ability to work ethically, independently, and responsibly
• Resourceful and collaborative problem-resolution skills
• Strong and respectful written and verbal communication skills
