About the role

Aiken Animal Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our friendly, client-focused team. We are a well-equipped, fast-paced small animal practice that values compassionate care, teamwork, and a positive work environment.

Compensation

$21 - $25 per hour, based on experience.

About Our Practice

1181 Banks Mill Road
Aiken, SC 29803
Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday: 7:45 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday: Closed

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care to hospitalized patients.
  • Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, collect laboratory samples, and run in-house diagnostics.
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery.
  • Utilize Fear Free handling techniques and advocate for patient comfort.
  • Safely restrain dogs and cats.
  • Educate clients on preventive care, medications, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and support a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential or eligible for licensure in South Carolina.
  • Client-focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Team-oriented and compassionate.
  • Comfortable handling and restraining dogs and cats.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with anesthesia, dentistry, and laboratory procedures is preferred but not required.

What You'll Bring To The Team

  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
  • A current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
  • Proficiency in a range of technical skills, including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
  • A calm and efficient approach, especially in fast-paced or stressful situations.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively.
  • One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred.
