About the role
Are you a highly skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital environment and has a passion for dentistry, anesthesia, and exceptional patient care? Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced LVT to join our growing team in the heart of New York City.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis and obtain high-quality dental radiographs
- Maintain anesthesia independently and confidently
- Calculate medications, CRIs, and anesthetic protocols accurately
- Prepare patients for surgery and dental procedures
- Intubate patients safely and efficiently
- Place IV catheters and collect diagnostic samples
- Perform laboratory diagnostics and patient monitoring
- Absorb and assist with surgical and dental procedures
- Monitor patients through recovery and hospitalization
- Obtain diagnostic radiographs
- Support doctors during appointments and treatment plans
- Educate clients regarding treatments, medications, and preventive care
- Collaborate closely with the entire hospital team to maintain workflow and patient care standards
Qualifications
- Active New York Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) license required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred
- Strong dentistry and anesthesia experience required
- Comfortable with dental radiographs and dental prophylaxis
- Strong medical math and drug calculation skills
- Excellent patient handling and nursing care skills
- Strong communication and client education skills
- Fear Free experience is a plus
- Vetspire experience is a plus, but not required
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
