About the role
The Hampton - Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Therapist (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT) to join our Child and Adolescent Outpatient Therapy team. In this role, you will provide high-quality behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and their families while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery, resilience, and healthy development.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and establish diagnostic impressions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and make appropriate treatment recommendations and referrals.
- Provide individual therapy for children and adolescents using evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Respond to behavioral health crises and provide short-term crisis intervention, when needed.
- Maintain an active outpatient caseload while ensuring timely, accurate clinical documentation, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Coordinate care with families, schools, healthcare providers, community partners, and other professionals to support positive outcomes.
- Monitor client participation in medical and behavioral health services and provide aftercare and follow-up services as appropriate.
- Identify community resources and connect individuals and families with supportive services.
- Attend treatment team meetings, client staffing, court hearings, or legal proceedings when required.
- Document services, maintain statistical data, and ensure compliance with agency, state, and payer requirements.
- Provide administrative supervision and clinical supervision toward licensure as assigned.
Requirements
- Current Virginia licensure as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
- Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience including therapeutic counseling, crisis intervention, and case management functions.
- Must be eligible or approved for MCO credentialing.
