Position Summary
The Activities Assistant / Social Services Assistant supports the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of engaging recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs designed to enhance residents' quality of life. This role works closely with the Director of Social Services to ensure programs align with each resident's individual needs, interests, assessments, and care plans.
What You'll Do
- Aid in the development and delivery of meaningful resident activities and programs.
- Encourage resident participation and engagement in social and recreational events.
- Support residents' emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.
- Help evaluate program effectiveness and recommend enhancements.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain documentation and records as required.
- Ensure activities reflect residents' preferences, abilities, and care plan goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from an accredited program may be required based on facility size and state regulations.
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervised social work experience in a healthcare setting working directly with individuals.
- Knowledge of age-related needs and the ability to provide appropriate care and services to the resident population served.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach with a genuine desire to improve residents' quality of life.
