Licensed Senior Structural Project Manager (Bridge)
About the role
Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for a Senior Structural Project Manager (Bridge) PE at our Dallas or Austin office. This full-time Senor Structural Project Manager position is within our transportation group and should have a minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience with structural clients. Must be registered in Texas as a Professional Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Work as a member of multi-discipline project team in the design and development of projects.
- Collaborate with, and act as a resource for, Huitt-Zollars in a multi-discipline office.
- Conduct meetings with clients, internal disciplines and/or contractors and their subs.
- Design and analyze structural systems for low-to high-rise buildings.
- Cookordinate and delegate tasks between multiple disciplines and attend regular meetings.
- Effectively mentor young engineers and assist in their development.
- Aid and work with senior staff to develop project budgets and proposed fees.
- Review shop drawings, perform field inspections, and facilitate the construction administration process.
- Perform quality reviews of engineering plans for completeness and engineering accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertakes Project Manager responsibilities for major projects ($2.0+ million annual billing).
- Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project.
- Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.
- Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget.
- Led successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client).
- Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projects.
- Cultivates relationships with clients and holds strong relationships with clients.
- Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process including weekly rhythm.
- Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and is responsible for assigned portion of office sales goal.
- Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals).
- Develops and/or executes project Win strategy.
- Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives.
- Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.
- Actively engages and participates in the training, coaching, and mentoring of junior staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE), Master’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (MSCE) is a plus.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in State of Texas.
- Min of 10 years of experience, including project management.
- Ability to obtain license in other states.
- Proficient with TxDOT design practice and guidelines highly preferred.
- Rail bridge design experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with relevant technology/software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, RISA, STADD.
- Passionate about transportation and major highway design projects.
- Ability to work / lead in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
