About the Role

Provides quality psychological services to adolescent, child, and/or adult patients to address mental health needs, focusing on children and/or teens with academic, occupational, behavioral, social, emotional, or chemical dependency challenges, as well as their families and caregivers. Delivers a comprehensive range of services within scope of practice, often in multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary team settings, to enhance daily life functioning and support the organization's mission and vision.

Responsibilities

  • Administer psychological tests and write related reports, including timely documentation summarizing findings, interpretation, and communication of results to patients, caregivers, referring providers, treatment teams, or collaborating providers.
  • Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy as appropriate, with scheduling aligned to organizational expectations.
  • Engage in supervision of psychologist trainees, associate therapists, peers, or colleagues based on scope of practice and qualifications.
  • Provide coverage or support for partial hospital or hospital-based services as needed and within licensure scope.
  • Coordinate care with internal and external providers and treatment teams (with proper ROI), particularly at service initiation and discharge.
  • Communicate with caregivers and guardians to involve them in treatment decisions and contribute unique clinical perspectives to interdisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain competency in de-escalation techniques using Collaborative Problem Solving©, therapeutic self, relationship-based care, and trauma-informed care.
  • Embrace trauma-informed and interculturally responsive practices, considering gender, race, age, and other cultural differences.
  • Participate in improvement projects, committees, research, or clinical enhancement opportunities.
  • Attend required training seminars, staff meetings, rounds, and actively engage in organizational initiatives.
  • Maintain clinical records and confidentiality per PrairieCare policies, level of care requirements, and HIPAA rules.
  • Prepare and submit accurate, timely billing records according to policy and level of care requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Doctorate or master’s degree in Psychology.
  • Current licensure as a psychologist (LP) in the State of Minnesota and ethical standing with the licensing board.
  • Qualified to maintain credentialing with all insurance panels.
  • Academic, experiential, and licensing foundation to administer and interpret psychological tests.

Pay

Compensation range for this per diem position is $50.00/hr. - $74.00/hr., depending on education and experience. Pay within the range is determined by skills, experience, education, market conditions, and internal equity.

Schedule

Per diem/as-needed services for supervision of interns and back-up coverage at the Edina Outpatient Clinic (in-office position).
