About the role

CoreCivic is seeking Licensed Psychologists to provide the highest quality care in an institutional setting. The successful candidate will perform psychological functions at a pace and level consistent with job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological screenings and assessments through record reviews and clinical interviews with inmates.
• Collaborate with a mental health team, including psychiatrists, providers, physicians, nurses, and social workers, to integrate treatment activities and ensure follow-through.
• Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans based on inmate needs and functioning levels.
• Make regular rounds in segregation or confined housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs.
• Apply psychological counseling theory and techniques through treatments and activities for individuals in caseload.
• Provide mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions for inmates in distress.
• Consult with psychiatry, mental health, nursing, medical, educational, chaplain, security staff, and others to understand behavioral escalations and mental health changes.
• Provide timely clinical guidance during after-hours incidents and emergencies.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state of employment.
• Two years of clinical experience, including one year in a comparable position.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
