Salary: $150,000 - $195,000 + relocation package and full benefits
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university
- Current, unrestricted license to practice Psychology in the State of California
- Two years of clinical experience, including one year in a comparable position
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Valid driver’s license
Corrections or detention center experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological screenings and assessments through record review and clinical interviews with inmates
- Collaborate with a mental health team (psychiatrists, service providers, physicians, nurses, social workers) to integrate treatment activities and ensure follow-through
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on inmate needs and functional level
- Perform regular rounds in segregation or confined housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs
- Apply psychological counseling theory and techniques through treatments and activities for individuals in caseload
- Provide mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention to address inmate needs
- Consult with psychiatry, mental health, nursing, medical, educational, chaplain, security staff, and others to understand behavioral escalations and mental health changes
