Licensed Practical Nurse - Urgent Care - Urgent Care - Florence

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance to the physician in assessing patient needs based on data gathered through history, observation, physical exam, telephone triage, and analysis of diagnostic data.
• Executes direct patient care tasks, including triage, assessment, procedures, treatments, patient education, discharge instructions, and follow-up communications.
• Prepares patients for physician visits, formulates initial databases by collecting pertinent information from patient and family, and documents findings in the patient’s medical record.
• Carries out specialized tests such as audiometry, electrocardiography, inhalation treatments, and certain laboratory procedures as directed by the physician.
• Administers medications and injects as prescribed by the physician, and collaborates with the physician during treatments and procedures.
• Provides patient education tailored to the situation and schedules testing and referral appointments as instructed by the physician.
• Communicates with patients via phone, addressing issues or referring calls to the physician as necessary, and follows up with patients as needed.
• Cleans and organizes examination rooms according to OSHA standards, maintains medical equipment, and orders medical supplies.
• Develops and maintains expertise in various medical equipment and actively participates in departmental quality assurance projects.
• Promotes a supportive work environment and contributes to the practice’s mission and philosophy.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Computer skills are required.

Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Basic Life Support certification.
