Licensed Practical Nurse

About the role

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides skilled nursing care tasks and procedures under the direction of an RN, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, physician, or other authorized health care provider. Primary Department, Division, Or Unit: UHS Primary Care Vestal.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care tasks and procedures under the direction of an RN, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, physician, or other authorized health care provider.
• Assist with patient assessments and documentation.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform basic diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Assist with patient transfers and ambulation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans.

Requirements

• Minimum Required: Graduated an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
• Current New York State Practical Nurse License, a Limited Permit, or ability to practice within the 90 day grace period allowed by New York State guidelines.
• CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related experience preferred.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills.

Pay

$22.97 - $34.46 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

Day shift, regular scheduled weekly hours of 40.
