Licensed Practical Nurse/Special Needs Nurse, School Health
Nature of Work
Under the supervision of the appropriate School Health Nurse, this position provides one-on-one care to students with special needs in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. May require accompanying the students on the bus to and from Dunkirk, Maryland. Make nursing judgments and perform technical procedures within the scope of his/her practice/licensure to meet the health needs of students.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one care to students with special needs.
- May accompany students on the bus to and from Dunkirk, Maryland.
- Make nursing judgments and perform technical procedures within the scope of his/her practice/licensure.
- Assist students with special health requirements, including lifting, positioning, transferring, and assisting with bodily functions.
- Perform a variety of health tasks and clerical work to assist students with special health requirements.
Requirements
- Must possess a current license as a Practical Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing.
- Driver’s License required.
