About the role
At MVHS, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides general nursing care to patients, families, and caregivers at the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center (RNC). LPNs play a vital role in providing compassionate care to our residents and their families. We offer flexible scheduling options for full-time, part-time, and per-diem positions across various shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
The Licensed Practical Nurse assists and advocates for the patient and family’s health in support of the patient-centered approach and delivery model of care and is an active care team member. Responsible for collaborating with physicians/providers, registered professional nurses, and multidisciplinary care team members, an LPN performs tasks and responsibilities within the framework of case finding, health coaching, and supportive care under the direction of the registered professional nurse or licensed physician or licensed healthcare provider.
Nursing shall be performed in accordance with the standards outlined for Licensed Practical Nurses in the NYS Education Law, NYS Office of the Professions, and by the State Nurse Practice Act. An LPN will follow the mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures of Mohawk Valley Health System.
