Licensed Practical Nurse PRN, Residential Hospice

Job Requirements

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides compassionate, patient-centered nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider (MD, NP, PA, etc.). This role is responsible for delivering high-quality clinical support, ensuring patient safety, and promoting wellness through skilled nursing practices, education, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Makes rounds on patients to monitor vital signs, administer medications, perform wound care, obtain specimens for laboratory examinations, and carry out provider orders for routine treatments, in accordance with the state of Maryland Nurse Practice Act and Regulations.
• Maintains accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Assists RNs and providers with examinations, procedures, and treatment plans.
• Supports patient and family education regarding treatments, medications, and care plans.
• Maintains infection control standards, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Maintains medical supplies, equipment, and inventory as needed.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Required: Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses.
• Required: Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing Education Program approved by the State of Maryland.
• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Pay Range: $27.44 - $38.41
