About the role

Assists in the assessment of the needs of the patient. Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care. Participates in development, interpretation, documentation of plan of care for each patient. Provides patient and/or family teaching as necessary and acts as a liaison between patient/family and physician. Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with office standards. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and families.

• Carrries out physician’s orders as assigned and confers with physician for clarification of orders when necessary.
• Administers and records medication accurately.
• Schedules diagnostic testing and doctor referrals.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and educates patient/family on working diagnosis, appropriate course of treatment, pertinent diagnostic findings, and physician recommendations for future follow-up care.
