Licensed Practical Nurse Pediatric Gastroenterology

Responsibilities

• Orients new staff members.
• Assists physicians, nurses, and staff with patient care and coordination.
• Schedules appointments, procedures, tests, and referrals.
• Prepares, stocks, and cleans exam rooms.
• Documents patient history, vital signs, immunizations, and allergies.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments.
• Performs phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Coordinates patient flow and provides information to patients.
• Observes and adheres to departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
• Utilizes equipment, supplies, facilities, and resources efficiently.
• Participates in quality improvement programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN school.
• Proficient in English, verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills.
• Current Louisiana State license as LPN and BLS certification.
