Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility and accountability for a group of patients under the supervision/direction of a registered nurse.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Practical Nursing Program registered by the New York State Education Department or by the licensing authority of another state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire date.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for critical care units.

Physical demands

• Appreciable physical effort required, including moving, lifting, and assisting patients of varying sizes and physical abilities.
• Frequent reaching, stooping, and being on feet for extended periods.
