About the role

Valor Healthcare is looking for a passionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join their team at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Oswego. The role offers a mission-driven work environment serving veterans, competitive pay, and a collaborative, team-based care model.

Responsibilities

  • Actively assists with patient care, physical examinations and ancillary tests.
  • Performs annual and routine nursing assessments and preventive health services.
  • Administers medications, observes patients, and reports adverse reactions.
  • Operates diagnostic equipment and collects lab specimens.
  • Cleans treatment rooms and maintains confidentiality of veterans' data.
  • Collaborates with the PACT Team and non-VA providers.
  • Provides patient and family health education.
  • Ensures compliance with VA and company training requirements.

Requirements

  • Diploma or certificate from an accredited program of practical or vocational nursing as approved by the state.
  • Minimum one-year experience as an LPN/LVN in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting, preferably in a government healthcare environment.
  • Credentialing and ongoing good standing with the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
  • Valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment, or in any U.S. state or territory, depending on VA contractual requirements.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support and ACLS as specified by individual VAMC contract.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong computer skills, including EMR experience.
  • Energetic and optimistic demeanor.

Qualifications

  • Must comply with and maintain all requirements for a valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment.
  • Must be credentialed and remain in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
