Licensed Practical Nurse - Outpatient Mental Health

About the role

This Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct physical and emotional care to Veterans in a Mental Health Outpatient Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, specimen collection, and administering medications and immunizations.
• Support patient education on health conditions, medications, and treatments.
• Conduct assessments, document findings, and report to RNs or providers.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment, restock supplies, and participate in team meetings.
• Use therapeutic communication and respond to emergencies appropriately.
• Collaborate with telehealth staff and assist with related duties.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted LPN licensure and graduation from an approved program.
• Experience at the GS-4 level or higher demonstrating nursing skills, patient care, medication administration, and emergency response.
• Knowledge of human behavior, patient advocacy, and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Qualifications

Preferred experience in mental health and telehealth, but not mandatory.
