About the role
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) serves as a key member of the interdisciplinary team, delivering comprehensive care to veterans. The role involves direct patient care, medication administration, and emergency response.
Responsibilities
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Interacts with patients in groups to ensure compliance with treatment plans.
- Observes and responds to patients' needs for nursing, medication, and equipment-assisted care.
- Uses practical knowledge of human behavior to enhance interactions with patients, families, and staff.
- Demonstrates the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of practical or vocational nursing.
- Active, full, current, and unrestricted licensure as an LPN/LVN.
- One year of experience involving nursing care work in a healthcare facility.
- Two years of mental health experience in acute or residential settings preferred.
