Licensed Practical Nurse - Medical 6B - Nights - FT
Mercy Hospital Springfield - Medical 6B is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for rotation nights (1830 to 0700). The 6B unit specializes in the care of patients with pulmonary and respiratory conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, asthma, and other lung-related illnesses. The team provides focused treatment, respiratory support, patient education, and coordinated care to promote recovery and improve breathing health.

Overview
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care for assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and service standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; consideration will be given for comparable education, experience, and successful licensure
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri
- Current LPN license within the hiring state; must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Can be a new or experienced LPN
Physical Requirements/Demands
- Stand/walk most of the time on duty
- Significant amount of bending and stooping
- Lifting and turning patients with assistance
- Push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds
