Licensed Practical Nurse LPN- Multispecialty Surgery & Wound Care Clinic- Days

About the role

The Multispecialty Surgery & Wound Care Clinic located on the 11th floor of the Adult Outpatient Pavilion provides specialized care to patients age 14 and above. Services include wound management, wound care education, and supply assistance.

Responsibilities

• Integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet patient and family needs.
• Assist the health care team in preventing illness and injury, maintaining wellness, and providing comfort.
• Provide direction, education, and begin to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level.
• Deliver and accurately document direct, age-specific care to patients or groups of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care.
• Safely administer prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.

Requirements

• Licensure, certification, or registration: LPN licensure in Virginia or eligibility for licensure.
• Experience: Varies based on transitional duty assignment; preferred experience in acute care settings or relevant field.
• Education/training: Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing; preferred: none.

Qualifications

• Age-specific groups served: As appropriate based on transitional duty assignment.

Skills

• Follows documented physician/licensed independent provider orders, standards, and practice guidelines.
• Organizes work to carry out assignments.
