Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Medical/Surgical

About the role

This position involves completing a Nurse Residency Program, including attending core curriculum classes, participating in professional development, and achieving clinical competencies under supervision. The role focuses on refining nursing skills, managing patient care, and adhering to organizational policies regarding licensure, infection control, and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document patient data, identify needs, and communicate with registered nurses.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and make referrals as needed.
• Provide patient treatments, explain procedures, and advocate for patient rights.
• Record care delivery, observe for problems, and escalate issues to RNs.
• Implement cost-effective practices, participate in quality improvement, and adjust staffing based on patient needs.
• Perform assigned duties and support team operations.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited LPN program or recognized equivalency.
• Current LPN license recognized by the NCSBN Compact or state licensing authority.
• Less than 12 months of LPN experience; candidates with more experience are ineligible.
• If pursuing RN licensure, notify management upon obtaining RN license.
