Licensed Practical Nurse LPN/LVN Licensed Vocational Nurse
Position Summary
The department embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, which are essential for providing specialized care to patients. This department provides clinical care for patients from Neonatal to Geriatric patients.
Essential Functions
- Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
- Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
- May administer medication.
- Aids RN in developing the plan of care.
- Aids patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Maintains monitoring, documentation, and communication of patient’s status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
- Documents patient care given.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
- Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.
What We're Looking For
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
- Education: Graduate of an approved practical nursing program.
- License/Certifications: Current LPN license in state of practice; BCLS required; Handle with Care preferred.
