Licensed Practical Nurse LPN/LVN Licensed Vocational Nurse

Position Summary

The department embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, which are essential for providing specialized care to patients. This department provides clinical care for patients from Neonatal to Geriatric patients.

Essential Functions

• Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
• May administer medication.
• Aids RN in developing the plan of care.
• Aids patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Maintains monitoring, documentation, and communication of patient’s status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
• Documents patient care given.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Education: Graduate of an approved practical nursing program.
• License/Certifications: Current LPN license in state of practice; BCLS required; Handle with Care preferred.
