About the role
We are seeking experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to support adult mental health patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care under supervision of RNs and physicians
- Administer medications and treatments per orders and policies
- Monitor patient behavior, physical condition, and response to treatment
- Document observations, interventions, and progress accurately
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Support crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes recovery
Qualifications
- Active NY LPN license
- At least 1 year of experience with adult mental health patients
- Current BLS certification
- Strong communication, observation, and patient care skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced psychiatric setting
