About the role
The Community Behavioral Health Hospital (CBHH) in Alexandria has an opening for a talented Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. Operated by Direct Care and Treatment, the CBHH is a small inpatient psychiatric facility that provides rapid assessment and stabilization for adults experiencing an acute mental health episode.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing duties in caring for adults with acute to chronic and severe mental illness, including keeping clinical charts and reports on the emotional and physical status of patients.
- Facilitate the admission of patients to the unit.
- Take temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure readings.
- Administer and record prescribed medication.
- Promote and participate in rehabilitation activities and encourage patient personal hygiene.
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free environment and comply with all safety and health standards, laws, regulations, and policies.
Minimum qualifications
- Possess or be eligible for licensure in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse. Future Practical Nurses who are within six (6) months of graduating and taking their NCLEX-LPN are encouraged to apply. Contingent job offers may be made upon successful completion of degree and passing of NCLEX-LPN.
Preferred qualifications
- Patient care experience within a mental health or behavioral health setting.
- Experience working in a hospital setting.
Additional requirements
- Reference and background checks to verify job-related credentials and criminal background check prior to appointment.
- Provide documentation that they are free from tuberculosis (TB) through a blood test prior to employment. Direct Care & Treatment does not accept TB skin testing.
Pay
$28.01 - $35.83 / hourly
Schedule
Rotating Shift / 6:30am-5:00pm; 12:00pm-10:30pm. Days of work vary; may include weekends and holidays.
