About the role

Surgical scheduling, assisting providers with patient care, obtaining prior approvals, and returning voicemails. The LPN works directly with the physician in clinic, rooming patients, performing dressing changes, and assisting with procedures. Reports to the Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule surgeries and obtain prior authorizations.
  • Assist providers with patient care and return voicemails.
  • Room patients, perform dressing changes, and assist with procedures in the clinic.
  • Collect and document patient intake data; maintain accurate and complete patient records.
  • Provide patient support that considers emotional, physical, social, cultural, religious, and economic influences.
  • Assist with routine clinic support activities and act as an advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well‑being.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment in accordance with clinic policy.
  • Coordinate nursing staff to ensure accessibility and continuity of care.
  • Coordinate physician and office staff requests related to patient activities and needs.
  • Serve as an Athena Super User.
  • Assist with quality control of all point‑of‑care testing.
  • Provide staffing support when management is unavailable and recommend overtime or low‑census staffing adjustments for manager approval.
  • Assist with orientation and training of personnel and students.
  • Participate in meetings as required or assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including supply ordering.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an LPN program.
  • Current LPN license to practice in North Carolina.
  • BCLS certification.
  • Six years of clinical experience.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Schedule

Full‑time, days: Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. – noon.
