Licensed Practical Nurse - Dale Thompson Trails West
About the role
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to support schools for the Severely Disabled.
Responsibilities
- Cook up and implement a plan for health screenings.
- Cook up and implement special health care procedures.
- Train on lifting techniques, basic first aid, infection control procedures, administering medication, CPR and other in-service as needed.
- Administer medication and other health care procedures according to physician orders.
- Participate in staffing and IEP conferences to provide information on the student’s physical and health needs when requested.
- Oversee all Special Health Care Programs (SHCP). Make sure they are completed correctly and all necessary supplies are available.
- Notify parents if additional supplies are needed.
- Take a leadership role in developing and implementing a comprehensive school health plan.
- Accurately complete required reports on or before established deadlines.
- Collaborate with building administrator to maintain an orderly, attractive, safe, clean environment.
- Maintain CPR training instructor certification and basic CPR certification.
- Maintain confidentiality of parent, student and staff personally identifiable information.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri.
- Experience with pediatrics and/or individuals with disabilities preferred.
Qualifications
- Professional license pursuant to state law required.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of pediatric and/or individual with disabilities care.

Pay
The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.
