Licensed Practical Nurse
About the role
Working with the Division of Youth Services is more than it seems. You will be working with staff to create a safe, therapeutic, and educational environment for youth in our day treatment and residential programs.
Responsibilities

- Perform practical nursing work in the care and treatment of youth in a facility of the Missouri Division of Youth Services
- Prepare nursing assessment summaries and health care plans
- Instruct residents and patients in performing personal health care
- Implement health care plans
- Establish medication logs for each group and review them weekly
- See all youth requesting medical attention and review all medical complaints, injury reports, and physicians' orders daily
- Establish and maintain an ongoing awareness of all youth with special health care needs and report significant findings to supervisor
- Inventory medications twice per month and check inventory quarterly
- Participate and assist RN with medication reviews and the preparation and submission of reports
- Provide immunizations to youth as directed by policy
- Maintain immunization records and submit to appropriate agencies
- Transport students and/or families to appointments and other locations as necessary
- Conduct CPR and First Aid classes for youth and staff
- Obtain and maintain certification as CPR and First Aid Instructor
- Work with management to ensure all staff receive and maintain certification in CPR and standard First Aid
- Provide health care and hygiene instruction to youth, staff, and families, promoting health and prevention and management of illness, injury, and special health needs
- Complete all required reports and correspondence in a timely, accurate manner in accordance with established procedures and formats
- Knowledge of current nursing theory, practices, and techniques
- Ability to work assigned schedule which may include a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or required overtime
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Practical Nurse in the State of Missouri or in accordance with Missouri’s Nurse Licensure Compact
- One or more years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Possession of a valid driver's license

Pay
The current rate for this position is $1,993.69 semi-monthly. Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g. shift, or time-of-service pay).
Schedule
This is advanced practical nursing work in the care and treatment of patients or residents in a facility of the Missouri Division of Youth Services. This position performs a variety of nursing duties including preparing nursing assessment summaries and health care plans, implementing health care plans, instructing residents and patients in performing personal health care, and performing preventative nursing care.
