Responsibilities
- Provides education regarding diabetic care, psychiatric medication and other medical needs to enhance individual health and wellbeing.
- Collaborates with individuals to make medical and/or other Provider appointments as needed.
- Aids in the intake process, collects blood or urine specimens and arranges transport to lab as ordered.
- Maintains medication records in accordance with policy and State Regulations.
- Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies and procedures as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
- Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
- Supports Medical Assistants and other staff as needed, including treatment and discharge planning.
- Performs other related duties assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting.
- Thorough comprehension of psychiatric nursing preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of psychiatric medications and their indications, common side effects, reactions and interactions of medications prescribed.
- Ability to work with agitated guests in crisis and their families to implement behavioral management interventions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Effective listening skills.
- Excellent clinical documentation skills.
- Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
- Driving Requirements: If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations driving policy.
- Travel required based on business need.
- Must be able to pass a seven-year background check.
- Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable).
- Must be able to pass education verification check.
- Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states.
- Must be able to pass three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier (if driving is required for this position).
- A Nursing Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
- Licenses: Current and valid LPN license.
- Specialties/Certifications: CPR/First Aid Certification.
