Licensed Practical Nurse

Scope

Provides clinical support to the Medical Oncologist; Functions as a point person/coordinator of services for oncologists and oncology patients. Promotes the smooth transition of patient care from entry into MBPCC system until completion of treatment and throughout follow-up process. Assists designated physician(s) in a variety of professional and paraprofessional patient care activities as specified and requested.

Responsibilities

• Clinical support for Medical Oncologist
• Phone triage
• Specialized nursing care of oncology patients
• Maintains patients' EMR
• Provides supervision for and delegations of duties to LPNs & Medical Assistants

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN license in the state of LA required
• ONS/OCN highly preferred
• BLS CPR required
• Oncology/Infusion Nursing Experience Highly Preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of general nursing experience
