Location: Department of Health, Maury County, Columbia, TN – 1 position

This position requires a criminal background check and may require a valid motor vehicle operator license.

Qualifications

  • Currently licensed as a practical nurse with the State of Tennessee or holds a privilege to practice in the State of Tennessee under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).

Responsibilities

  • Performs BLS (Basic Life Support), CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and other emergency responses.
  • Follows a prescribed health care plan or protocol, takes patient vital signs, and administers medication.
  • Educates patients/caregivers on maintaining optimal health status, including self-care such as dressing changes, self-examinations, activities of daily living (e.g., hygiene), and use of adaptive equipment/devices.
  • Documents assessments, care, and education provided to the patient, including orders followed, medical interventions, completed tests/results, and the administration/effectiveness of drugs.
  • Discusses patients' comprehensive health plans with other staff to identify patient/client needs.
  • Maintains an adequate, current, and secure inventory of health care supplies and reports discrepancies.
  • Ensures medical equipment and designated work areas are kept clean and serviceable; reports maintenance problems or repairs.
  • Provides education to employees and others.
  • Communicates with internal and external entities.

Driver Standards: Candidates must meet State of Tennessee driver qualifications, including a valid driver’s license and no record of DUI, reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, or more than 4 moving violations in the past five years.

Pay

  • Monthly: $2,896.00 – $4,331.00
  • Annually: $34,752.00 – $51,972.00

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • May be assigned to work days, evenings, nights, and/or weekends.
