About the role

The Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester is accredited by The Joint Commission and seeks a skilled individual to support the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) and various critical patient care areas. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, five years of trade-specific experience in plumbing and mechanical systems, and a Minnesota Journeyman or Masters Plumbing License.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS)
• Works in critical patient care areas such as Emergency Department, Linen & Central Services, Pediatric & Neonatal & other Intensive Care Units, Inpatient care areas requiring overnight stays for patients, Psychiatric & Complex Intervention Units, Transplant Units, Labor & Delivery, Cath Labs, and a Heliport.
• Operates, maintains, repairs, and diagnoses complex, critical mechanical/plumbing systems and equipment relating to Building Infrastructure.
• Communicates effectively and responds assertively to customer needs.
• Prioritizes work tasks and interacts with staff, visitors, and patients.
• May be required to work overtime and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Serves as a resource and mentor to others.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED
• Five years of trade-specific experience working with plumbing and mechanical systems related to Building Infrastructure
• Military experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of the field service experience requirements
• Four years of military experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of the field service experience requirements
• Experience working in a healthcare facility is preferred
• Minnesota Journeyman or Masters Plumbing License
• ASSE 5110 and ASSE 5130 certifications or ability to obtain these within one year of hire date
• Complete the Utility Mechanical, or the Plumbing Utility specialty criteria within 2 years of hire date
