Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and monitors the Mental Health Program to include staff development, mental health counseling of students, TEAP program counseling, according to the Job Corps federal regulations and the Policy and Requirements Handbook.
- Provides on-call mental health services for emergencies, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. MHC may provide services by phone or in person.
- Develops constructive programs for meeting students’ mental health issues and works with center disciplinary, maximum benefits, intergroup relations and the AODA prevention programs.
- Documents and submits forms and correspondence to local, state, and federal agencies to meet all program requirements.
- Issues and maintains Standing Orders on all mental health issues as required by the National Job Corps program.
- Provides evaluation and diagnostic services to inpatient or outpatient students.
- Provides limited psychiatric treatment as permitted by licensure.
- Arranges off-center referrals and treatments as needed according to National Job Corps directives.
- Provides documentation and referrals for students who are recommended for termination from the program.
Qualifications
- Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist or Psychiatric Social Working acceptable licenses. Must be licensed in the state of Iowa.
- One year of experience as a licensed independent practitioner providing assessment and treatment services to adolescents and young adults required.
- Knowledge of mental health issues of disadvantaged youth.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulation.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.

Pay
- Full-Time: $80,000 to $92,000
- Part-time and 1099 hire available. Part-Time Hourly Rate: $52.50 - $62.50 (Open to Negotiate)
