About the role

The Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant (IECMHC) provides early childhood mental health consultation support to home visitors, childcare center staff, children, and families. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing early childhood mental health consultation in classrooms and through home visits
  • Training and coaching staff
  • Screens, assesses, and refers services
  • Promoting and marketing group services
  • Providing parent training

Responsibilities

The IECMHC supports caregivers and providers in identifying and addressing early signs of environmental, relational, and behavioral concerns to prevent escalation, promote healthy relationships, and reduce negative behaviors and symptoms in early childhood.

Requirements

Minimum Education: Master's degree in counseling related field

  • Experience working with families with young children
  • Infant and early childhood mental health consultation model
  • Infant Mental Health
  • Reflective Supervision
  • Group Parent Education settings
  • Trust Based Relational Intervention preferred

Defined Experience: Two (2) years in early childhood preferred

Qualifications

  • Intern status licenses such as LPC-I, LMFT-A, and/or LMSW in the state of Texas
  • Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record
