About the role
Join our Head Start/Early Head Start Leadership Team as a Mental Health Consultant, coordinating mental health and disabilities services across Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate mental health and disabilities services across Head Start and Early Head Start.
- Observe classrooms and provide constructive feedback to support positive classroom management, teaching practices, and social-emotional development.
- Provide consultation and support to Head Start/Early Head Start staff and families.
- Develop and facilitate staff training and in-service workshops related to special education, mental health, and social-emotional development.
- Supervise the Special Education Teacher, including regular supervision, professional feedback, annual performance appraisal, and professional development planning.
- Ensure services comply with Head Start Program Performance Standards, applicable federal, state, and local requirements, licensing standards, and YCCAC policies.
- Ensure IEP/IFSP documentation is current and appropriately maintained in ChildPlus.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work.
- Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential that can be maintained throughout employment.
- At least three years of management experience.
- Experience working as a Licensed Social Worker.
- Must successfully pass required background checks, conducted upon hire and at least every five years.
- Must pass the required physical examination.
- Must not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website.
