About the role

Kingsboro Psychiatric Center is recruiting for a Licensed Master Social Worker to provide professional social work services to individuals with mental illness. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver culturally competent and evidence-based treatment and support services in a recovery-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention, service linkages, and discharge planning.
  • Develop treatment plans with individuals and the treatment team; monitor and evaluate progress; modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Determine discharge needs and identify appropriate community resources.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community providers to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).

Candidates within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Pay

Additional compensation may apply based on shift assignment:

  • 7% shift differential for evening shift and weekend days.
  • 10% shift differential for night shift.
  • Eligible for the Downstate Adjustment of $4,000.

Background checks will be required. If you fail to maintain your license and/or registration once appointed, action will be taken to remove you from the position.

To be eligible for appointment and maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists (or excluded from any other Federal or Federally assisted program). If appointed and subsequently listed as excluded, you may be terminated from employment.

If appointed, you may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider; obtain and provide a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number issued by the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES); and actively participate to allow for your services to be billed through Medicare and Medicaid. Loss of billing ability may result in termination.
