Licensed Massage Therapist - Part-Time Weekends

About the role

Sunlighten Day Spa is undergoing a complete renovation to create a fresh, upscale experience for our guests, with a grand reopening on October 1, 2026. We are seeking an exceptional Licensed Massage Therapist to join our team and deliver the same level of quality, care, and attention to detail that defines our space. This role focuses on our thriving weekend clientele, offering the opportunity to build a loyal customer base and create transformative experiences. You will work closely with our Spa Manager to provide whole-body healing and relaxation, with availability required every weekend or every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, professional-quality massage therapy services.
• Adhere to all spa policies and practices, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and professional appearance in massage rooms and throughout the customer experience.
• Discuss and document each client’s painful or stressed areas and any health conditions prior to services to ensure safety and satisfaction.
• Actively listen to clients during massages, adjusting pressure and technique to meet their needs and accommodate reasonable requests.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all services, products, and treatments offered, delivering them with a healing and relaxing touch in accordance with state/local protocols and Sunlighten Day Spa values.
• Ensure guests feel welcome, comfortable, and valued by providing enthusiastic, high-level customer service, leaving them feeling satisfied and special.
• Coordinate with spa team members on scheduling and expectations, adhering to appointments to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Licensed in Kansas and Overland Park, as required by law.
• Proficient in relaxation, prenatal, hot stone, and deep tissue massages.
• Ability to provide 30-90 minute massages by appointment.
• Capable of exerting physical pressure during sessions to address clients’ needs.
• Must be able to lift and carry massage equipment and supplies.
• Positivity, a “can-do” attitude, excellent communication skills, and customer service experience.
• Confidence in service skills and quick decision-making abilities.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

• Commission-based compensation starting at 30-40% depending on experience, plus tips.

Schedule

• Part-time role: Saturday 9AM–5PM and Sunday 11AM–4PM.
