About the role
The essence of the Licensed Massage Therapist role is to deliver excellent, customized, professional, and caring work to every client.
Responsibilities
- Deliver deep tissue massage
- Develop treatment plans for addressing identified issues
- Communicate effectively with clients during intake, within the session, and during outtake
- Educate co-workers and the community about aspects of health and wellness
- Recommend post-session self-care boutique items
- Maintain a professional appearance and a clean, tidy work station
- Work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Requirements
- Current New York State license and registration
- Adeptness and confidence in assessing musculoskeletal dysfunction
- Easy rapport in communication with clients
- Customer service and deep commitment to meeting or exceeding client expectations
- Passion for bodywork and wellness, and motivation to continuously educate oneself
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in computers
- Comfort in recommending post-session self-care boutique items
- Flexibility with work schedule
Preferences
- Experience working in the massage/wellness field
- Experience in sales considered an asset
