Licensed Massage Therapist

About the role

The essence of the Licensed Massage Therapist role is to deliver excellent, customized, professional, and caring work to every client.

Responsibilities

• Deliver deep tissue massage
• Develop treatment plans for addressing identified issues
• Communicate effectively with clients during intake, within the session, and during outtake
• Educate co-workers and the community about aspects of health and wellness
• Recommend post-session self-care boutique items
• Maintain a professional appearance and a clean, tidy work station
• Work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

• Current New York State license and registration
• Adeptness and confidence in assessing musculoskeletal dysfunction
• Easy rapport in communication with clients
• Customer service and deep commitment to meeting or exceeding client expectations
• Passion for bodywork and wellness, and motivation to continuously educate oneself
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in computers
• Comfort in recommending post-session self-care boutique items
• Flexibility with work schedule

Preferences

• Experience working in the massage/wellness field
• Experience in sales considered an asset

• Ability to lift 25 pounds
