Licensed Home Inspector

About the role

Travel to home inspection sites.

Inspect properties according to State of Virginia Licensed Home Inspector Standards.

Generate written digital reports for same-day delivery to clients.

Responsibilities

• Inspect properties in accordance to State of Virginia Licensed Home Inspector Standards
• Produce written digital reports for same-day delivery to clients
• Conduct extensive classroom and field training
• Paid for certifications and licensure
• Receive professional and general liability insurance

Requirements

• At least 2 years of construction, real estate, or home repair experience
• Strong understanding of building codes, laws, and government regulations
• Preferred degree, certification, or license in construction field
• Valid Virginia driver's license with a good driving record
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and positive attitude
• Physically fit for tasks including climbing ladders, walking on roofs, accessing crawl spaces and attics, and standing for long periods
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver heavy ladders
• May be required to enter homes containing allergens like pets, dust, mold, or other substances

Qualifications

• Passing score on relevant home inspector certification exam
• Knowledgeable about local building codes and regulations
• Experience with home repair and construction
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
