About the role
Responsible for performing exams, taking ear impressions, fitting, cleaning, adjusting, and ordering hearing aid products and supplies. Performs front desk duties, provides a high level of member service, and maintains our culture, core values, and ethics.
Responsibilities
- Achieves benchmarks and goals using methods and strategies consistent with the Code of Ethics.
- Mentors employees enrolled in the Hearing Aid Apprentice Program (HAAP), providing hands-on training aligned with the HAAP curriculum, reviewing opportunities and successes with the apprentice each week.
- Provides prompt, courteous member services and responds to customer problems.
- Trains customers in caring for their hearing devices, including intrinsic cleaning and brushing.
- Communicates with members via phone to provide general information about the hearing aid department, general troubleshooting guidance, and schedules appointments.
- Performs administrative duties using the office management system to maintain member records and schedule appointments, maintains department inventory, orders supplies, answers phone calls, and returns voicemails.
- Assists members with scheduling appointments, answering questions about products and services, device evaluation, and services as allowed by state law.
- Checks in and stores all daily receivings, including assembling and/or charging member devices for delivery.
- Performs Hearing Aid Dispenser duties including member consultations and exams, uses department equipment to conduct testing and ear impressions safely and consistently with a passing score on the ‘Ear Impression Certification Exam’, recommends hearing devices, places orders, and refers for further care if needed. Uses tooling and equipment to perform fittings, adjustments, and cleanings on hearing aid devices.
- Loads, operates cash registers, and performs money transactions with customers.
- Follows safety and security procedures, follows PPE requirements, and maintains cleanliness of the department.
- Travels, including some weekends, as business needs require, to assist other hearing aid departments.
- Ensures proper procedures for cleaning and infection control are implemented and proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
