Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

About the role

We are looking for a Licensed Funeral Director (Embalmer is a plus) with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join our organization.

Responsibilities

• Arranges, coordinates, and directs funerals and memorial ceremonies.
• Embalms deceased individuals to the highest standards.
• Meets and surpasses the needs and expectations of the families we serve in the upstate.
• Maintains active involvement within the community and builds effective relationships and rapport.
• Performs home, hospital, and nursing home body transfers, including lifting 100+ pound body weight with assistance from a mortuary associate.

Requirements

• South Carolina Funeral Director License (Required).
• South Carolina Embalmer License (Preferred).
• Proven, superior arrangement, directing, and embalming skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent diligence and consistent level of accuracy.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning and utilizing industry software.
• Exemplifies values of integrity, respect, compassion, professionalism, innovation, and overall excellence.
• Excellent knowledge of funeral home procedures and business practices.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Desire to continuously improve oneself through literature, professional educational seminars, and extensive training.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (mandatory).
