About the role
Provide compassionate, professional, and personalized funeral service to families while coordinating all aspects of at-need and preneed arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Arrange and direct funeral and memorial services
- Embalm and prepare decedents
- Coordinate transportation and disposition
- Complete required documentation
- Work with clergy, cemeteries, crematories, vendors, and other service providers
- Comply with all applicable federal and state laws, OSHA regulations, and company policies and procedures
- Participate in an on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Assist with staff coordination, public speaking, community outreach, and preplanning education
- Promote the funeral home and support coworkers
- Maintain funeral home facilities, equipment, and vehicles
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mortuary Science
- Kentucky Funeral Director and Embalmer’s license or ability to reciprocate
- Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift 75 lbs or more
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends
