Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer
About the Role
As a Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer, you will provide compassionate, professional, and personalized funeral service to families while coordinating all aspects of at-need and preneed arrangements. This role involves arranging and directing funeral and memorial services, embalming and preparing decedents, coordinating transportation and disposition, and completing required documentation. You will work with clergy, cemeteries, crematories, vendors, and other service providers while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, OSHA regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Additional responsibilities include participating in an on-call rotation (evenings, weekends, and holidays), assisting with staff coordination, public speaking, community outreach, preplanning education, and promotion of the funeral home. You will also support coworkers and maintain funeral home facilities, equipment, and vehicles as needed.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mortuary Science
- Maintain a Kentucky Funeral Director and Embalmer’s license OR ability to reciprocate
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends
- Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift 75 lbs or more
