About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Clinical Social Worker (GS-0185-12) to support the 366th Maintenance Group True North program at Mountain Home AFB in Mountain Home, Idaho. The position provides professional social work services to AF squadrons, focusing on resiliency, human performance, and unit mission effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of professional social work services within operational AF squadrons
• Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary Integrated Operational Support (IOS) team directly supporting the Line of the Air Force (LAF) mission
• Conduct education and prevention activities, psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, and evidence-based interventions and treatments
• Engage in behavioral risk management and provide appropriate protections as needed
• Offer guidance and consultation services to medical professionals and military leaders, and facilitate referrals to human service agencies and resources

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Master's degree in social work from an accredited school
• Current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any state, DC, PR, or VI
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Practical experience practicing as an independent licensed clinical social worker within the past two years
• Knowledge of social work practices, principles, theories, and administrative requirements
• Understanding of evidence-based treatments for psychiatric disorders
• Knowledge of the DSM and professional diagnostic skills
• Understanding of military organizations and culture
• Knowledge of psychological and psycho-social measures and their proper assessment
• Ability to engage in behavioral risk management and provide appropriate protections

Qualifications

• Must meet all requirements for the master's degree in social work
• Must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Must have practiced as an independent licensed clinical social worker within the past two years
