Role Overview: This position provides comprehensive mental health services within inpatient behavioral health units. Key Responsibilities: Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, ensuring timely and thorough documentation.Deliver individual, group, and family counseling to support treatment goals, utilizing techniques like cognitive-behavioral therapy.Facilitate at least one group therapy session per week and involve families at least twice weekly.Assist with milieu management, admissions, and crisis intervention using CPI methods when necessary.Collaborate with treatment team members and community providers for care planning and discharge preparation.Develop and implement individualized treatment and discharge plans, ensuring smooth transitions of care.Address legal and ethical issues related to patient rights, guardianship, and reporting laws, and assist with court proceedings as needed.Maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively, and project a professional demeanor. Qualifications & Skills: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.Licenses: LCSW or LCPC (Illinois), with CPI training within 3 months.Minimum of 1+ years of experience in mental health or related field.Strong communication skills, advanced reading, writing, and oral abilities.Basic computer skills, familiarity with Windows OS, and ability to learn new applications. Additional Requirements: Ability to travel between facilities, drive personal vehicle for work, and respond appropriately to diverse patient needs. This role emphasizes team collaboration, culturally sensitive care, and adherence to legal standards.
