About the Role
Provides assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy, and discharge coordination for patients on inpatient behavioral health units, supporting an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Conducts individual, group, and family counseling aligned with treatment goals.
- Facilitates group therapy sessions and involves families regularly.
- Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments, documenting progress and recommendations.
- Collaborates with the treatment team and community providers to develop and execute personalized care plans.
- Initiates discharge planning early, ensuring smooth transitions and patient advocacy.
- Assists with legal issues related to treatment, including guardianship and court proceedings, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
- Utilizes CPI methods to manage aggressive or violent behavior and supports milieu management when census is low.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with relevant certifications.
- Minimum of 1+ years experience.
Skills
- Strong communication, documentation, and computer skills.
- Knowledge of mental health laws, confidentiality, and legal procedures.
- Ability to respond professionally, maintain confidentiality, and work effectively with diverse populations.
