Licensed/Associate Play Therapy Clinician

About the role

This is a part-time role based on-site in San Luis Obispo, CA. The ideal candidate is willing to see at least 20 clients per week and hold a caseload of at least 23 clients per week in case of cancellations.

Responsibilities

• Conducting intake assessments
• Developing treatment plans
• Facilitating individual and family sessions
• Maintaining an organized and engaging playroom
• Collaborating with caregivers, schools, and other providers

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field
• Licensed (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Psychologist) or Associate-registered in California
• Strong skills in play therapy
• Willing to see at least 20 clients per week and hold a caseload of at least 23 clients per week in case of cancellations
• Genuinely holistic orientation — comfortable integrating nature-based and expressive approaches into clinical work
• Waldorf education background a strong plus
• Comfort incorporating garden/outdoor activities into sessions with children
• Strong communication, documentation, and professional boundary-setting skills

Compensation

• $60/hour to start, increasing to $65/hour once you reach 10 clients on your caseload
• Health insurance is not offered with this role. As required by California law, we offer access to CalSavers, a state-facilitated retirement savings program; the practice does not make employer contributions.
