Licensed Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a Licensed Architect to join our team in a hybrid design and project coordination role. The ideal candidate will have strong architectural experience and be comfortable supporting projects beyond design, including permitting, construction coordination, project documentation, and project management support. This position will work closely with clients, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, city officials, and internal project teams to help move projects from initial design and permitting through construction and completion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and coordinate architectural drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Support architectural design, planning, and development activities.
• Review construction documents and ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, MEP consultants, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
• Assist Project Managers with project schedules, documentation, follow-ups, and deliverables.
• Track project progress, action items, deadlines, and outstanding issues.
• Assist with city permitting, plan-check, and approval processes.
• Communicate with city departments and respond to permit and plan-check comments.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct occasional site visits to review field conditions and project progress.
• Assist in coordinating design revisions and construction-related changes.
• Maintain accurate and organized project records and documentation.
• Support project execution from design and permitting through construction and closeout.
• Help identify project issues and coordinate timely resolutions.
• Provide general project coordination and administrative support as needed.

Requirements

• Active Architect License required.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Professional experience in architectural design and construction projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Strong understanding of architectural principles, building systems, and construction practices.
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning requirements, and permitting processes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and engineering drawings.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability and willingness to work in person in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Project Architect, Project Coordinator, or Assistant Project Manager.
• Experience coordinating architectural, structural, MEP, and construction disciplines.
• Experience working directly with city planning/building departments and handling permitting or plan-check processes.
• Experience with commercial or industrial construction projects.
• Experience in laboratory, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, or cleanroom environments is a plus.
• Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on licensed architect who can combine architectural expertise with project coordination and construction knowledge. You should be comfortable communicating with clients and contractors, navigating permitting requirements, reviewing drawings, visiting job sites, and helping ensure projects remain organized and on schedule.

Schedule

Part-Time or Full-Time opportunity. In-person position based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Travel of up to 75% may be required.
