About the role

As a Regional Field Manager (internally referred to as a Grassroots Engagement Director) you will identify, recruit, and engage grassroots leaders in South East Wisconsin to mobilize them to take action and drive policy reforms that open opportunities for all.

Responsibilities

  • Identify activists in various parts of the state who are currently—or could become leaders—in their local communities, and motivate them to advocate for change.
  • Equip these local leaders to advocate for changes consistent with LIBRE’s principles by connecting them to training and resources.
  • Organize events where you and other activists engage the public through phone calls, social media, neighborhood canvassing, and innovative outreach methods to educate on public policy issues.
  • Ensure regular contact with activists to keep them motivated, educated, and active.
  • Manage part-time canvassing contractors, including time management, compliance with laws and regulations, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Passion for people, ability to build relationships quickly with people from all walks of life, and skill in inspiring and motivating them.
  • Knowledge of state and federal public policy landscapes.
  • Self-motivation and a proactive approach to time management and objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple events and activities for yourself and volunteers.
  • Ability to work well with a team, including LIBRE staff and activists.
  • Enthusiasm for canvassing neighborhoods, making phone calls, and coordinating volunteers for LIBRE, AFP priority initiatives, and AFP Action endorsed candidates.
  • A valid driver’s license to travel for meetings across the state as needed.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Integrity, humility, and an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Commitment to Stand Together’s vision and principled approach to solving problems, including values like transformation, innovation, humility, and respect.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in grassroots advocacy, community organization, and/or political campaigns.
  • Volunteer or staff supervisory experience.
